Carmelite Pictures offered students to illustrate and design a children’s book called ‘Moon Mouse’, this was written by Corrinne Averies and the book is towards at the age of 6 - 8 years old.
Moon Mouse presents ways to encourage the children to explore and be adventurous out of their comfort-zone. These are my original hand-drawn illustrations portraying my style of work
Quick sketches of the boy and moon mouse depicting how I visually imagine what their appearance are, the boy was drawn first as I thought and focused on his facial expressions and his body positions are placed.
The mouse was difficult but with other references from films such as ‘Tom & Jerry’ or ‘The Rescuers’ etc. This is again presented with facial expressions guiding the reader how the mouse portrays theirs emotions visually.
These are my final sketched spreads before illustrating with colour and text.
