Cafe Contemporary

Grads4Nottns provided a two week placement for the Nottingham Contemporary to relaunch alongside with reopening their art gallery.

My team and I approach many ideas to focus on the awareness of the
café for
first-time visitors, increase conference rooms hires and encourage return customers.

Our solution was to redesign their menu, loyalty cards and provide a wayfinding & signage. For online was to create 'Google Ads' campaigns and 'Google My Business' presence, 
café webpage draft and a draft for social media marketing campaign.

The project gave my team and I a unique experience of working with people we have never met before who studied different courses. It allowed us to achieve better results and split the work between us easier.

My role was to create and design a wayfinding & signage for Café Contemporary, my intention was to illustrate shapes that connects to the café menu and including bright colours to lighten the atmosphere of their outside surroundings. These illustrations are done on Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Colours.

Sebastian worked on the analytics of 'Google Ads' and 'Google My Business' to promote more on Nottingham Contemporary's website and developed a webpage.

The webpage was designed for an easy access for companies to navigate where they want to hire a space in Nottingham Contemporary and a calendar was created to show which rooms were available to use the hiring space for conference rooms to be used.

Chau researched and found sources to help the business on increasing the awareness of Notts Café Contemporary. She investigated the competitive brands on how they managed to uphold their strategies on utilising social media to promote their brand to a wide range of audience.

Chau and I designed their social media stories to increase more audience as it needs to be more promoted occasionally throughout the day.

Lil Lyn redesigned the Cafe Contemporary menu as the overall previous design lacked personality, colours and hierarchy.

She designed a minimalistic menu that uses the negative space evenly, this makes it more readable and accessible for customers. The idea was to include the clipboard to show an appearance of feeling natural.

Also, Lil Lyn has redesigned their loyalty cards that makes it more memorable for users to return often to receive their free drinks. The card has the Notts Contemp long term exhibitions on the reversed 'N' to capture the artworks inside their gallery, this makes it a collectible and limited item for users to keep
